Sultan Perak's Silver Jubilee

Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak who had ruled for more than 25 years will be celebrating the Silver Jubilee today, 3rd February 2009 and the awards ceremony will take place at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar. (Silver Jubilee is a celebration held to mark a 25th anniversary)



Throughout the 471 years of the Perak Sultanate, Sultan Azlan Shah was the fourth Sultan of Perak to be celebrate his Silver Jubilee.

Pos Malaysia Bhd will issue a special set of stamps and first day cover to mark Perak Sultan's Silver Jubilee.

Chinese New Year is also known as Spring Festival is one of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is also often called as Lunar New Year. The celebration begins on the first day of the first lunar month in the Chinese calender and ends on the 15th day, the Lantern Festival.

Chinese New Year Eve is where the 'Reunion Dinner' takes place. All the relatives are back to their hometown and have dinner together in a big round table. This year is the Ox year.
